Spicy Korean Beef

This recipe can be made within 20 minutes beginning to end! Super easy and super flavorful. If you are going to eat this with a side of rice, make sure you put the rice on beforehand so it can be ready in time.

Ingredients:

-2 teaspoons grated garlic

-1 teaspoon grated/ground ginger

-2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce

-2 tablespoons soy sauce

-1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

-Dash of salt and pepper

-1 tablespoon chili powder

-1 teaspoon paprika

-1-1.5 teaspoons red pepper flakes (depending on how spicy you want it.)

-1 medium chopped onion

-1 pound lean beef (I used 96/4 ground beef)

-1 pack of steamable green beans, broccoli or assorted frozen veggies

Instructions:

1.) Steam bag of veggies in the microwave. These usually take 5 minutes.

2.) While the veggies are in the microwave, sauté garlic, ginger and onion in a hot pan coated with nonstick spray. (Add a bit of water if necessary to deglaze if these ingredients get stuck to the pan.)

3.) Add beef to pan and sauté on medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes,

4.) Add salt, pepper, chili powder, paprika, red pepper flakes, soy sauce and the teriyaki sauce. Mix everything together until it is well incorporated,

5.) The veggies should be done steaming by now. Strain them and add them to the pan. Be careful because they are likely very hot!

6.) Finally, add the sesame oil in and stir. Let simmer for 2 more minutes.

Enjoy!

Note 1: You can make this with any lean beef you’d like and any veggie!

Note 2: You can skip the red pepper flakes if you don’t like spiciness.

Note 3: This dish is great with a side of rice or mashed potatoes!
