One of my go-to steak marinades happens to also be the easiest! You can marinade your steak in this mixture for a little over an hour and you’ll have a solid steak! If you have more than an hour, of course you can let is sit in the marinade for longer but I would recommend at least the 1 hour.
-1/4 cup olive oil
-1/8 cup balsamic (You don’t necessarily have to measure this out, just use a splash of it.)
-1/4 cup red wine vinegar
-1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
-Salt and black pepper
-1/2 teaspoon minced garlic (this is totally optional, I only include this when I feel like having garlicky food.)
1.) Mix all above ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
2.) Add steak to bowl with marinade and let sit in fridge for at least an hour.
3.) Take steak out of fridge 20-30 minutes before you are going to grill or saute it so it has time to get down to room temp.
*This marinade is typically just enough for about a 2 pound steak. You can double or triple the ratio if you are making more meat, no problem.
*Depending on what you feel like having that night, you can accompany Italian marinated steak with almost anything! Some of my family’s favorites are: fry up an egg, avocado slices, rice, mac & cheese, caramelized onion, roasted brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes.
